Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for approximately 20–30 retail employees, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection coordination, and offer support.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies that meet accelerated hiring timelines and evolving workforce requirements.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, new-hire documentation, training logistics, employee records, and other workforce administration.
- Ensure recruiting and onboarding processes comply with applicable California employment laws and hiring requirements.
- Support workforce scheduling, employee relations, and people-related operational readiness throughout the store launch phase.
- Coordinate communication among U.S. and Japanese stakeholders, store leadership, recruiting partners, vendors, and employees while improving HR and administrative processes
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, workforce management, operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment and hiring multiple employees within defined timelines.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage deliverables.
- Professional business-level English and conversational Japanese sufficient for day-to-day communication with Japanese-speaking colleagues.
- Knowledge of California labor and employment requirements; experience with hourly employee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, or workforce administration is preferred.
- Experience supporting retail store openings, business launches, or expansion projects, particularly within retail, luxury, hospitality, apparel, restaurant, or other customer-facing industries, is a plus.
