A Japanese gaming company is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Accounting Associate to support its daily accounting operations. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this position handles invoice processing, employee expenses, accounts payable and receivable, and routine sales reporting. The role involves communication with internal teams, vendors, and accounting and audit contacts at the headquarters in Japan.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Review vendor invoices, verify supporting details with internal teams, assign general ledger codes, and process entries and approvals in QuickBooks Online.
- Verify corporate credit card transactions and receipts, follow up on missing documentation, and accurately categorize and record expenses.
- Review employee expense reports for policy compliance and correct coding, coordinate approvals, and record approved reimbursements.
- Issue customer invoices, respond to billing inquiries, and assist with tracking accounts receivable.
- Compile and summarize recurring sales and revenue data for internal reporting.
- Maintain organized accounting records and support routine accounting tasks, cross-functional coordination, and operational coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Business-level English required, with the ability to communicate effectively with local staff and vendors.
- Strong written and spoken Japanese required to explain accounting matters in detail and communicate with headquarters accounting and audit contacts; near-native proficiency preferred.
- 2–4 years of accounting or similar experience is preferred. Candidates without prior accounting work experience may also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and to review numerical data and financial documents accurately.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, a cooperative approach, and the ability to respond positively to feedback and changing priorities.
