Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
- Collaborate with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
- Periodically compare current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; use judgment to anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed.
- Negotiate with outside supply vendors; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Integrate sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
- Maintain master distribution schedule for the assigned facility, revise as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
- Lead planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff, participate in additional periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Windows, MS Office; extremely proficient with production planning systems (MRP/ERP).
- Previous plant operations knowledge, manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment is ideal.
- Should be able to work long hours and able to work overtime when required, as per the business needs.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and attention to detail is a must.
- Comfortable leading and participating in group meetings.
- Willing to wear face mask, hairnet, smock, and safety shoes are to be worn at all times, while inside of plant.
