Responsibilities and Duties
- Demonstrate being a role model for safety first—both employee safety and food safety.
- Provides employees with effective job training in compliance with plant safety guidelines.
- Oversee management of all areas of production to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are provided on-schedule and within cost, quality and safety standards and objectives.
- Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of food production operations to ensure that products conform to established quality standards.
- Partner with the quality assurance team, correcting errors immediately and in a positive manner.
- Handles employee disciplinary action paperwork as well as attendance issues.
- Keep machinery/equipment in condition for best performance and highest efficiency.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese at business level is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Engineering or similar science or engineering background desirable
- 3+ years of work experience in a food production environment
- 2+ years of lead position experience
- Have knowledge about Food Safety and sanitation
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- A desire to constantly learn and a drive to perform well
