Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the strategies and key objectives of logistics, warehousing, shipping, and compliance across the business
- Manage the partnerships with existing and future external partners, including transportation, 3PL/warehousing, and contacts distribution partners to provide timely order fulfillment, delivery, receiving, and reverse logistics services.
- Implement the inventory management system and manages the day-to-day activities of systems, as well as optimization projects across inventory control, transportation and trade compliance, and distribution and fulfillment
- Deploy a standardized and optimized inbound and outbound logistics network with the goal of minimizing total system cost and maximizing profitability, while delivering superior customer service
- Continuously refine long term strategy of business decisions to drive changes and improvements in unit costs, performance metrics, and key performance indicators across the entire supply chain
- Ensure all shipments meet or exceed lead time and cost expectations.
- Identify providers who can meet new needs and/or deliver cost compression or lead time reductions and design and oversee the strategy of new carrier onboarding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Fluency in Japanese at the Professional Working level is a big plus.
- 2-3 years of experience managing supply chain organizations with either in-house or 3rd party distribution operations, all modes of transportation, with a particular skill for leading RFPs and negotiations.
- Well-versed in supply chain processes as well as end-to-end vendor management.
- Backed by a solid understanding of transportation across all modes, plus a working knowledge of commercial terms and cost drivers within each mode.
- An analytical thinker with borderline neurotic attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Extensive knowledge on warehouse management systems (WMS).
