Responsibilities and Duties
- Support in the areas of service revenue, general ledger, AR, AP and expense activities including transaction processing and reconciliations.
- Maintain accounting records in conformance with (GAAP) applicable to government and review accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and to verify proper authorization and conformance with agreements, contracts and applicable laws and regulations.
- Compile and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, reviews statements and performs analytical reviews, and reconcile general ledger accounts to bank statements.
- Maintain fixed asset records, analyze expenditures for capitalization in accordance with policy and professional accounting standard and calculate depreciation expense.
- Manage payroll, tax, treasury management, order-to-cash, and revenue recognition activities.
- Perform ad hoc information gathering, analysis, reporting, as needed.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese - Professional Working to Native Level.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or similar field of study preferred.
- Proven working experience as accountant, preferably using Quickbooks.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within strict timelines/deadlines.
- Strong analytical mind, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and provide expertise and development to colleagues when needed.
