A Japanese-affiliated technology company operating in the enterprise knowledge and AI solutions space is seeking a Senior System Engineer Manager to lead the design and development of AI-powered enterprise platforms. This position will play a core role in building intelligent knowledge systems that integrate LLMs and production-grade infrastructure. The role is responsible for driving architecture design, leading system implementation from PoC to production, and managing a small engineering team while engaging directly with enterprise clients.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and develop enterprise applications and AI-driven knowledge platforms as a hands-on full stack engineer
- Architect scalable system solutions, including LLM and RAG-based implementations
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical designs
- Lead end-to-end system implementation from proof of concept through production deployment
- Manage, mentor, and review the work of a small engineering team while establishing quality standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally and participate in technical discussions with enterprise and OEM clients
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong full stack development experience with backend API design
- Proven experience in system architecture design and delivering production-grade systems
- Experience leading engineering teams and conducting code reviews
- Client-facing or stakeholder engagement experience
- Cloud development experience (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience building AI/ML applications, including LLM and RAG-based systems is preferred
- Experience with enterprise platforms, knowledge management systems, or technical documentation systems is preferred
- Automotive industry experience is preferred
- Japanese language proficiency is considered nice to have
