Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and accounting data accuracy.
- Manage AR processes from invoicing to collections, including preparing customer invoices, reconciling billing, monitoring aging reports, and resolving discrepancies with customers.
- Supervise AP processing, ensuring timely and accurate entry, verification of supporting documents, and compliance with company policies.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, manage cash/check deposits, and ensure alignment between accounting systems and bank portals.
- Review and approve purchase orders, expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card reports for accuracy and policy adherence.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve accounting discrepancies, provide support, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and participation in accounting system upgrades or process improvement projects.
- Provide guidance and oversight to accounting support staff and contribute to overall administrative functions of the department.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including AR/AP and month-end close.
- Prior team leadership or managerial experience required (supervising staff or leading accounting processes).
- Strong knowledge of accounting operations, reconciliations, and compliance procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting systems; experience with ERP transitions or system upgrades is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with U.S. local teams, vendors, customers, and Japan headquarters.
- Bilingual English/Japanese required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
