Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement client engagements from start to finish (planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects)
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals
- Prepare more difficult quarterly estimated tax and extension payments and corresponding vouchers
- Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
- Assist on proposals and business development calls
- Conduct tax research to resolve client issues, recommend tax strategies and prepare technical memorandums as required
- Advise clients on how to minimize tax liability, inform them of any tax changes that affect their business or individual return and ensure compliance with taxing agency requirements
- Respond to notices, interface with taxing authorities and assist with federal and state tax audits

Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese - Professional Working to Native Level
- 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in the public accounting field
- Detail oriented and self-sufficient with the ability to meet multiple competing priorities
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel)
- CPA certification or EA (active) preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Accounting
